Fancy Packaging Whore

THIS is one of those purchases I made that was based entirely on the snazzy packaging.

It actually says…

Guaranteed happiness or your money back.

Way to go, Purina.

That-goddamned-cat is gonna be HAPPY.

Although, truth be told my biggest grocery purchasing downfall is without a doubt, paper towels and napkins.

The best design wins.

Every. single. time.

This also goes for tissue box designs.

Price is no object.

I’ll gladly skimp on something ELSE to ensure the procurement of eye-pleasing paper goods.

Everyone knows the happy aura of ones kitchen is totally dependent upon it’s enrichment with festively themed paper products.

A happy balanced kitchen.

Although, on occasion the same festive mindset can backfire and bite you in the butt.

Come February, I for one, absolutely will NOT touch the snowflake themed products with a ten foot ice scraper… even if they’re FREE.

That frosty design brings undesired negative winter energy into a home that’s clearly in desperate need of a cold weather exorcism.

If you live in a cold weather climate you can easily relate and probably don’t buy them either.

Understandable.

Also, slightly bothersome and therefore noteworthy is the lack of appealing design choices.

More than once I’ve reached for a package of napkins thinking… what-in-the-hell is this??

Upon closer examination, sure as shit, it was plain blue circles.

Blue rings.

Wowzer. Awesome design.

Not.

Kindergarten children could come up with snazzier designs that that.

I mean, did the napkin people even TRY?

Maybe they don’t have Google at the napkin design factory, so they have to rely on good old fashioned ideas directly from the brain or maybe they’re smoking weed with the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.

That would explain a lot, because creative thinking…and just plain THINKING in general have become endangered activities.

I’m tempted to add a skill to my own resume that states… kick-ass designer of unique, appealing paper products.

There’s obviously a shortage of creative design energy in the paper product work force.

Lucky for me, these ideas come naturally.

Bing! .<lightbulb>

Bright ideas- circus animals, martini glasses, flamingo’s, random FUN facts, cup cakes, Where’s Waldo scenarios, swinging monkey’s, tarot readings, snarky Maxine cartoons, beach scenes, Channing Tatum…

I’m certain I could make kitchens everywhere… HAPPY.
